Our Wild Boar Leather Keychain is a simple trophy of your noble contribution to the boar war that you can bring everywhere you go.

  • Tanned and finished in Wisconsin by Gallun Leathers
  • Hide Origin: Wild boar, full sides of US origin
  • Thickness: 6 ounces
  • Grain: Unique grain and extreme pore pattern

Both the Jabari Boar and Waxy Boar are sourced directly from the Southeastern U.S. These boar hides undergo a rigorous process to create a softer leather that is ideal for a variety of leather goods.

The Jabari tannage offers enhanced temper, consistent weight, and balanced oil content. It’s a full grain, so it’s smoother but shows more character and scars.

The Waxy Boar tannage is a little more velvety to the touch because it’s been slightly buffed: Gallun Leathers uses sandpaper to remove a tiny part of the skin’s outer layer before rolling several layers of wax onto it.

This process slightly softens the appearance of the scars and follicles (don’t forget the follicles) while adding more texture to the surface because more skin fibers are exposed.

Waxy Boar’s surface is a little less scarred, but has more texture and tonal variance.

Wild Boar Leather

All of our products are made from the hides of invasive wild boar trapped in the Southwestern United States and tanned in Tennessee.

Destructive pests that cause some $2.5 billion of agricultural damage every year, the beasts are bad, but the leather is great: the hide’s unusually dense fiber structure and combination tannage make a product that’s tough, water resistant, full of character, and unlike anything you’ve owned before.

Testimonials

It looks wonderful and has so much character. Really a first-rate leather

Jan DeWitt

It's a really cool story, how the pigs are taking over, and we're here to stop them and turn them into leather. It's just a really cool concept, and I love this leather."

Weston Kay, Rose Anvil

The grain is insane. Just like the product photo. Definitely a jaw dropper.

David S

It seems like tough leather and yet has a glove-like softness. Color is wonderful, lots of depth with light highlights.

Karl D

I expected the leather to be a little flimsy, but none of it. The temper is good and surprisingly even; there's a waxy finish, the color is rich — how often do you see online photos which have been digitally enhanced only to be met by disappointment when opening the box? Not here.

Stephen O'Neil
Los Angeles, CA

The quality of the tanned leather is fantastic- much better than I ever imagined.

Brad Simpkins

The leather has a rugged appearance and the most supple, luxurious feel. This is a juxtaposition I was not expecting.
